If given a choice, would you rather be really good at what you do, or would you wish to be heng heng instead? Most people would think that banking on luck is not sensible, hardwork and practice is the way to success. Only lazy people and gamblers would rely on luck to get ahead. But for me, I'd rather only be so-so in what I do and be the luckiest son of a bitch there is...
Let me gib example, imagine hor, 2 world class tennis players are vying for the grandslam (or it can be table tennis players or 2 teams of basketball players or whatever, you get the picture)... then its match point, the ball hits the bloody net and bounces up in the air and for a brief moment, time seems to have stopped as all eyes are on the ball... now does skill or hardwork determine which way the ball will go? Of cuz its luck lah... But of cuz hardwork and practice will get you to the finals in the first place so I'm not undermining people who work hard... But of cuz if you are talking about gambling, then its totally different... how good can you be at dai ti or mahjong if lady luck bo hiew you? There are 1001 other things that relies on luck too, like getting past interviews... No matter how well prepared you are or how qualified you are for the job, if you suay enuf and the interviewer kuah you buay song, oso lan lan rite?
Think I have made my point, from today onwards, I shall be more religious and hope
Ti Gong will po bi po bi me and make me his godson so that I can be very lucky....
On an entirely seperate issue, I have realised that I have made
Ah Geok very famous among my social circle... cuz she got mentioned ever so often in my blog and sometimes in my msn nick... so now everyone is asking me who or how is
Ah Geok... maybe I shall post her pix one of these days, of cuz need to mosaic a wee bit lah, else kanna sue left rite centre jia lat...
Oh today just had another one of those super boring branch meetings... those kind where got no agenda one... bosses talking cock among themselves and then arrows anyhow fly and see who suay then kanna shoot... waste everyone's time oni lor... meeting from 4.30pm and stretch till 7plus... kns...
Really makes you wish they can all go 吃大便

And so the Jack Neo was ok... Quite out of point but damn farnie, esp for those who work in the civil service, you will definitely see traces of some of your colleagues in the show... kudos to Fann Wong, I mean I'm never a fan of the so called Caldecot Hill Princess but she's kinda cute in the movie, a refreshing change from her usual demure-damsel-in-distress on screen persona... Go catch the show if you haven already... I'll give it like 3 and a half out of 5 stars...
Back to office today, feeling damn super duper sianz... heard the whole office queued up to 跟 Ah Geok and our CD Director 拜年... They said CD Director will welcome all who go in and will give ang pow, Ah Geok will not give ang pow and will 讲你,if you happen to wear black, dun care if its only your jacket...
Ok so since I need to ask CD Director to sign some documents, I might as well go 拜年 also right? So armed with my documents and 2 kiam and flanked by 2 other colleagues who also happened to be on leave yesterday, I knocked on her door and stepped into the office, hahah of cuz say happy new year first mah, then she happy happy, gib me ang pow and signed my documents without asking questions... hahahah clever move right?
Then when we were deciding whether to step into Ah Geok's room, our HR assistant said, 'You all haven gone in ar? Better seek clearance from the PA first.' What the fuck? Go say happy new year still must seek what fucking clearance? She so dai sai meh? As if Lim Peh super gian to go into her room like dat? Seek my ass clearance ok? Anyway, they say she likes people wish her 青春永驻... Wa lau eh... she how old liao, still simi lan cheow 青春永驻???*pukes*...
p.s.
Paisei ar... not supposed to be so vulgar during festive season but simply cannot tahan how some people really think so damn highly of themselves... Really makes my blood boil sometimes... p.p.s.
For your info, I have not sought clearance and I will not seek clearance and I will most definitely not gonna wish her simi 青春永驻 lor...

Sigh... so fast CNY holidays end liao.... super duper sianz, its back to work all over again, although I on leave tmr... heheh but still... the feeling like last time army liddat... Saturday book out damn happy, Sunday suddenly become damn sian cuz nid to book in liao...
Ok a slight summary of the Denster's CNY:
Day OneSpent waiting for relatives to come visit... then played blackjack and mahjong... KNN, lost money =( Was actually winning one, then suddenly luck dunno all go where sia, everytime got 12 diam sure kanna blardy Ah pek, pok ngoh leng oso will attract the Ah nia... Where got liddat one?!?!? Then play mahjong oso nvr get flower and the 牌 oso damn lousy, at most can do oni 臭平胡... Total loss = ard $50 (not much but buay song, cuz I seldom loose one mah... pui pui pui)
Day TwoManaged to squeeze 3 outings in one evening... Met up with
Kim and
Carine for dinner at KushinBo, for Jap buffet at Suntec City, damn ex wor, abt 43+++ per pax but the food not really that nice...
After dinner, went movies with
Peter,
Marcus and
Weiling, think they had a hard time trying to get tix, actually dunno if they drive ard S'pore to buy tix or book online lei, since I think everyone was already outside at that time but anyways, ended up catching the Protege at Shaw Towers, the Andy Lau's show abt drugs... Show's not bad lah, got a few disturbing scenes, esp when the female lead died a horrible death due to an overdose, hahah but I think that ought to send a really good message to whoever is already on drugs or those who is thinking of trying... Like I said in previous post... Watever u wanna try can, but never ever touch drugs... it will confirm plus guarantee plus chop ruin ur life...
Last stop of the evening, Music Heritage at Boat Quay... The usual gang is there, had quite a wild nite toastin all over the place and 拚酒with those from the next table... think we managed to clear 2 and a half bottles of Chivas which is new record, till date... Geez, actually got a little sey... looks like age really catching up liao, cannot drink so much le.... Had a hard time trying to catch cabs so ended up killing time in MacDonalds, waiting for the 1st train...
Day ThreeReached home 7 plus in the morning... spent a good part of the day sleeping and recuperating from dehydration and hangover... Supposed to go
Auntie Leng Leng's place to 拜年but overslept =x Paisei hor auntie... heheh

Have you guys ever wanted to do something real bad and then stopped short of doing cuz its like considered to be out of your social norm? Say for e.g. I have always wanted to get a tattoo, not those ah beng tattoos lah, but those cool mystic or tribal designs... I mean how cool can dragons, tigers, demons and carps be???
But anyway, like I said, tattooing is being heavily frowned upon in my social circle, my parents strongly believe that tattoos are meant for ah bengs and indecent people, as did all my ex-girlfriends, my frens (well ok not all but almost all of them) concludes that tattoos are not cool... cuz the ink will fade lah, it will be painful lah, risk of infection lah, I'll regret getting one when I get old lah, the tattoo will look real ugly when I grow old lah...
But hor... its my body rite? If I think its ok, then why can't I do it lei? Sure there may be one day when I think the tattoo is not so cool anymore, so I'll live with it... why the heck do you care? But the thought of being nagged at day in day out when Mum sees the tattoo is enuf reason to make me reconsider and reconsider and reconsider somemore... Mum's nagging is more deadly than 唐三藏's chant on 孙悟空, erm wats it called again? 紧箍咒 or something... Really her nagging will drive me NUTS, but that doesn't mean I dun love her lah... heheh
But come to think of it, I have always been rebellious, even in my school days, I'll skip class, get into troubles like fighting, shoplifting, smoking (but heng never got addicted), get my ear pierced... Ok maybe some of you younger ones may think its no big deal but hor... it is a big deal for me, in my time lor... hahah, but anyway my philosophy is to try everything once so that when I'm in my deathbed, I dun go 'Sigh, should have done this or dat when I had the chance..', but of course having this philosophy doesn't mean throwing caution to the wind and do stupid things like drugs lah.. Its more of like if you wanna do it, then just do it (pardon the cliche) but you must bear the consequences lor...
So back to the tattoo... Will I ever get one? Maybe sometime in the future I guess, else I'll have this regret in my deathbed... hahahah
So there, being V-day, should I blog something on the topic? Think I did one entry last year abt gals and V-days.... actually tot of writing a love song or something for this year but cannot do it wor... hahah, guess blogging is really different from song writing, so paisei ar... nothing interesting for you people this time round....
p.s. To all the love birds out there.... HAPPY VALENTINE'S !!!
p.p.s. To all the singles out there, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!

Rainbow complained that she got oni mentioned once in my blogs while there are people who got mentioned more, so she a bit buay song... sigh... so I'm forced to mention Miss Cutesy, yet again... Hmmm, actually hor, u can ask my bro, ur 亲爱的 to create a love blog just for u mah, mayb as a V-day prezzie... better rite? Then he can document all ur dates and special celebrations, complete with pix and whispered sweet-nothings and access can be restricted to just the 2 of u, very romantico hor? But dun ever tell him its my idea ar... or he'll kill me for sure...
And since its V-day, which basically means a day of love for all, friends, foes, lovers, families, animals, nature and the like, I shall love all you people out there, and yes, for one day only, I'll even love u,
Ah Geok... *muacks*

为何 no one ask me to go for interview yet har? 为何? 为何? 为何?
Paisei ar guys, think u all hear me kau peh many many times liao but I really damn bloody sianz liao lei... Is there no one who can deliver me from the evil clutches of Ah Geok and her evil minions? My fren gai siao one accountant job for me but I said I not accountant mah, but she said her boss looking for fresh graduate in Accountancy or Business, also can... So I thought, ok lah no harm trying but then, the blardy HR say I over-qualified wor...
*kua kua kua music in the background* 1) They ask for fresh graduate
- My deg cert fresh from the oven lei, less than 6mths old, not fresh enuf for u is it?
2) Job description: experience in Peoplesoft program, preferably in Accounts Payable, General Ledger, a bit of reconcilliation and able to analyse exceptions, plus dunno simi other duties assigned by mgt (I assume is all other shit that mgt is gonna throw at me)
- I got do that lei, abt the any other shit part I oso experienced, cuz I need to clear shit after Ah Geok's minions too, so should be ok rite? Then wat the hell u mean by over-qualified?
3) Current and expected salary
- Hello, you neber see the 'negotiable' mah???
Me is sad and devastated...
Have you guys heard of the Donut Factory? You should by now, its the hottest thing in town since bubble tea and papa beard and roti boy... For your info, the queue is still ridiculously long... And guess how long it takes for you to pre-order your donuts? One blardy month wor... And the stupid 8Days still have to go advertise somemore so now the queue is longer... Singaporeans so hard up for donuts mah? They are nice lah but not THAT NICE until I would go queue for 4 hours!!!
Tsk Tsk Tsk... me is sad and devastated and donut-less...

I was happily nua-ing at home yesterday when Princess Fion wanna go service her handphone, in some 狗不拉屎,鸟不生蛋 place called Panasonic service centre, supposed to be near Queenstown area.
Took bus 147 cuz lazy to take train, then take MRT then take train again but it turned out to be a fatal mistake, becuz:
The bus driver is either a newbie or he's is sleepy cuz he was driving damn slowly, think I can walk faster than he drives, kns
There are like a million school zones throughout the entire trip, I boarded the bus like 2pm lei, how come got so many students all go home at the same time ar? Students dun have to play ball, attend CCAs, go remedia or stay in groups deciding if they should go queue for Campus Superstars 2 de meh? Why must all go home at the same time? WHY? WHY? WHY?
In the end I so damn pek chek, alighted somewhere near Chinatown then took a cab instead... Picked up the Princess at Ikea then went over to Panansonic... the service centre was at some ulu ulu level 3 carpark, hidden in one small corner, not as posh as the Samsung/Ericsson/Nokia service centres where they flash your numbers and pointing you to the correct counter... Here, you need to take queue number, printed on badly laminated pieces of white paper... Lucky the queue was short, we were 2nd in line (mayb the place too ulu, people gave up trying to find? or Panasonic phones so stead that seldom got problems?)
We went Ikea jalan jalan after that... Actually Ikea is a very interesting place, can just go there and explore all the farnie farnie furniture and other homie stuff like for eg:
A toh dao (peanut) vase
The Princess is obsessed with the snake, she likes it so much she's actually wearing it as a turban... Oh, its going for oni $1.90, usually $7.90... so go grab one while stocks lasts
Princess Turban... heheh
Found all these beanies at $0.90 each, idea for farewell gifts in the event that I leave Ah Geok's Dept, better buying sweets and chocolates right? I still have tons of those from all those who left =x
The little lass jus cannot seem to keep her hands off the soft toys or keep them off her head... muuahahahah
The must have's when you go Ikea, the Swedish bah yee, chicken wings and Today's Special:
The hungry hippo
p.s.: Eh... y my blog post but no pix of me de lei? grrrrr

Monday blues... Monday Blues... Tuesday on leave... Tuesday on leave... Then back to shit hole on Wednesday but I'll leave it to Wednesday then...
Gotta face audit the whole of blardy next week... damn damn damn... CNY seems like eons away... Really wish I have that universal remote in the movie 'Click' but hor... can I request for a not-so-advance version so that the stupid thing dun automatically store whatever I have skipped into memory??? But then, I doubt I'll be handling auditors much oso lah...
One question for whoever reads my blog...
Should I start whoring my blog???I mean I get a little tired maintaining one blog here and one blog in Friendster... and since I have already put up my disclaimer, I could not be really bothered if I happen to offend anyone in the process right? Hmm so what do you guys think? Since I still cannot get this blogskin to accept comments, just leave me a tag whether your for or against can?!?!?
Dun say dumb things like 'Its up to you lah, your blog'
Give face hor... at least humour me a bit lah...

The pix that was supposed to be posted... heheh
Farewell Dinner and KTV for Daniel and FionHave I told you guys that I have never gone out with the accountants from Ah Geok's Dept before? Well, that's partly due to the organisational culture whereby the accountants are deemed more superior than the other organisms in office and that the support officers (oh, now we are called Accounts Officers, used to be Accounts Payable Assistants, nah bey, sounds like a blardy cashier can?) are treated as mere office boys and gals, so of course there will be tension and some hostility at work and as a result, the support officers do not usually mix around with teh accountants outside the context of work... damn sad rite?
So anyway, there are always exceptions, people like
Daniel,
Ee Lynn and
Rachel, the few accountants that I actually talked to and can be called friends instead of just working acquaintance, so when its time for
Daniel and
Fion's farewell, I actually volunteered to organise a gathering on Friday...
Another reason why I do not mix with them, or rather, join them for activities after work. These poor souls will not leave office till way after offficial working hours. Cuz of you-know-who lah, most of them work till like 8pm, 9pm or some even till 10pm on Fridays. I know some of you out there may find it a norm to work overtime, but hor people, gahmen servants generally do not so late lor, at least not in the other gahmen agencies which I came from...
Well so anways, we had dinner at some dunno Hong Kong simi cafe at Marina Square, the one besides QiLi (the store selling nasi lemak and laksa) and then we went KBox...
Among those who attended the gathering, some had already gained salvation and had left Ah Geok's evil clutches, and then there were some poor souls like Kang Wei who are serving out their bonds and will suffer for quite some time more...
The KTV session was quite entertaining, those who had left (
Sok Fen and
Grace) purposely chose songs with lyrics that sounds like rubbing salt to the wounds for people like me and
Kang Wei and
Yi Qian who are still stuck there... Some e.g.
“
我要快乐,我要能睡得安稳...”
“
至少我走得比你早...”
"
握着你手,坚持到最后一秒钟...”
Kang Wei, at this point had enuf and returned with a song of his own,
“
烈日当空,我吃得起苦...”
All in all, we had a fun time...
Boys' Nite Out After ROThis week's RO very pathetic, most of the gang went for Night Safari cuz Guifa got lobang for cheap tickets, I think its $10 or something, so we have no after dinner activites... so sianzzz.
So a few of us did something very bo liaoz...
Marcus jioed
Peter out, citing the reason that I wanna buy car so go turf city look see look... kauz... Lim Peh where got money buy car now? Can oni see see mah...
But anyway,
Weiling, and
Weili joined us oso, so we ended up in turf city eventually... We entertained ourselves by looking at the cars and 意思意思 ask the dealers some questions... You guys know the difference between a Honda Jazz and a Honda Fit? The former is made in Thailand and the later is made in Japan, and the other diffence is in the rear light... One is red white red and the other is just white and red... Pricing from parallel importer ranged from 50.2k to 58.2k lei... although they give sama sama the same things lei... Super nice lei... Definitely my dream car... Very gian liaoz...
HOW? HOW? HOW?We go eat crispy prata at 6th Ave after that... Eat and talk cock and then realised many chio bus go the Brazil cafe next door... Then we decided to have another guys outing there soon... muhahahah... As we were talking cock over prata and teh tariks, a taxi was driving past us quite fast and actually veered off course, mounted the road divider and ripped off part of its chasis frame!!! Luckily no one was crossing the road at that point... Is the driver drunk of did he doze off at the wheel? No one knows becoz as no one was hurt, nobody bothered to find out oso, the cabby just moved his vehicle to the side of the road and made a phone call, possibly calling his company to report the case bah... Some slight excitement for the evening... heheh...

Erm... I know it is in Singaporeans' nature to 'chop' seats using brollies and tissue papers but this is abit 夸张 right? *faintz* Very obvious the table got 5 ladies... heheh... oops may sound a bit sexist but the table was really occupied by 5 ladies wor... (dare not take pix of the occupied table cuz scared tio hoot)
Aiya... I know a bit boh liao to be posting such things cuz everyday during lunch time, sure got people chop seats one, if not must wait until wat time then can eat? But hor, its really very bad mah... imagine Singaporeans bring this bad habit along when they go holiday...
The scene is set in lets say, a fast food restaurant in an angmoh kok ka...Ang Moh looks at half opened tissue in disgust and tot to himself 'Who is the inconsiderate son of a goat who littered?'
Sg holiday makers come bak gleefully with food and were shocked to the core to see an angmoh occupied their chopped seats..
Sg: 'Eh scuse me, this is our seat'
Am: 'What? Can't you see I'm sitting here... How can you claim that this is your seat?'
Sg: 'Cuz we chop seats using our tissue paper jus now, u neber see meh?'
Am: ' So you are the ones who littered the place with half used tissue papers? How inconsiderate?'
Sg: 'Eh hello, lim peh ka li gong hor, we come first and chop seats liao, this is how we chop seats in Singkapo one ok... u dun think u angmoh tua jia then can guai lan ok?' (flashes his ang kong, aka tattoos)
Angmoh looked disgusted, gave up, and surrendered his seats, muttering under his breath on what a weird bunch of people Sg people are...
