Have you ever wondered why is it that the bus you are always waiting for will always come last? Or when you have a 50% chance of choosing something positive, you will always end up choosing the other 50% instead? Or when you are planning to catch a cab when you are running late, no cabs will be in sight?
It seems that when you are really sway, what will go wrong usually will.
A bunch of other people seems to have similiar experiences and they decided to make law/ rule/ theory out of it and name it after themselves:
1) Lorenz's Law of Mechanical Repair:After your hands got coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch
(Not really itch but I'll have the sudden urge to rub my nose)2) Anthony's Law of the Workshop:Any tool, when dropped, tends to roll to the least accessible corner
(Well, its so true for coins ... )3) Kovac's Conundrum:When you dial a wrong number, you never get an engaged tone
(Erm, well there's call waiting/ double lines nowadays mah)4) O'brien's Variation Law:If you change queues, the one you have left will start to move faster than the one you are in now
(I like this one, it's always the case for me... tamade...)5) Bell's Theorem:As soon as the body is immersed fully in the bathtub, the telephone will ring.
(Eh, I not so sway yet)6) Ruby's Principle of Close Encounters:The probability of meeting someone you know increases when you are in a situation where you do not want to be seen by anybody.
(Hmm... I do not want to meet that chio bu at the bus stop tmr...)7) Willoughby's Law:When you try to prove to the repairman that a machine doesn't work, it will
(Ya, that happens sometimes...)8) Owen's Law:As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold
(I dun let anything comes between me and my coffee... grrr...)9) Wooly's Law:When you are working late, the boss will never be around. When you are surfing the net, the boss will always drop by
(Damn Wooly and his law)

Did a survey and this is the results, eerily true except that not ALL my co-workers stink lah...
Oh just in case you can't read the heading, my job dissatisfaction index stands at 79% =(
Your Job Dissatisfaction Level is 79% |
Your job is a total bummer, and probably the worst job you've ever had. Your co-workers stink. Your boss is a jerk. And your company is probably in trouble. Think about finding a new job quickly, even if it's just a not-so-great transition job. You've got to get out of there as quickly as you can! |

Story of 2 MaidensChapter 4Sigh... I'm sad to disappoint all supporters of the Chosen Ones but the current score stands at Maidens: 1 Chosen Ones: 0
Well, the story goes that after the nobles decided to go ahead with the test, despite strong opposition from the Chosen Ones and the general mass, one of the Chosen Ones were utterly disppointed with the decision and decided not to participate in this test but to offer her services to a foreign land where she will be offered a place among the nobles.
One day before the Chosen One broke the news of her leaving the land, the Evil Queen issued a decree to officially praise one of the Maidens for some contributions that the evil fool could not even remembered. The peasants were immediately reminded of the same decree issued some months back, praising the other Maiden for her X factor and the ability to charm the Evil Queen.
Sadness filled the 4 territories and morale was being badly affected. One thought seemed to be running through everyone's mind: 'Could this be the Evil Queen's hint that the eventual winners will be and should be the Maidens?'
There were others who wanted to leave with the Chosen One but for various reasons, they could not do so. Because of livelihood, because they feel that they have to support the last remaining Chosen One, because they do not want to go down without a fight, they stayed behind, at least for the time being.
There was but one Elder among the peasants who, too decided to leave this sad place and seek refuge elsewhere where she will be feeling much happier.
The Chief Examiner for this test panicked at this sudden turn of events and decided to talk with the last Chosen One and the Elder in her chamber. The Elder has accumulated a wealth of experience over her years in the land and would have played an utmost important role in helping the Maidens rule their territories but the Elder could not work under the arrogant Maidens and was incensed at being taken for granted in this whole test. There was no stopping her from leaving.
The Chief Examiner's last resort lies in stopping the last Chosen One from leaving. Not only will the whole test fail and incur the wrath of the Evil Queen, life in the land would be severely affected as well because the last Chosen One has the support of those under his rule and his leaving would have meant a loss in more manpower.
The Chief Examiner tried her best to convince the Chosen One into not leaving and to pacify the rest of the peasants in this time of turmoil. But alas, even if the Chosen One so decides to stay and to pacify those under his rule, how much longer can they endure the increasingly lopsided test?

Thanks Peggy. I'm glad that you like reading my entries but dun think I'll ever be in Xiaxue's league.... hahaha
Anyways, it seems that citizens from foregin lands are also interested in the going-ons in the land ruled by the Evil Queen and so I present to you, the much anticipated Chapter 3... Hope this atones for a rather disppointing Chapter 2 (now I know why people say its hard to come out with sequels)... So enjoy...
=========================================
Story of 2 MaidensChapter ThreeIn the previous chapter, it was mentioned that the Evil Queen had taken noticed of the hard work that the peasants had put in and had decided to give some of the peasants a chance to be inducted into the ranks of the nobles.
There has been a decline in the ranks of the nobles as there are those who are disappointed in the way the land was ruled under the iron hands of the Evil Queen and decided to offer their services to other lands
As part of the test, the Evil Queen divided part of her land into 4 territories and 4 peasants were chosen to run these territories. Of course, since this was designed to test the capabilites of the selected candidates, there was still a limit to what they are authorised to do.
And it was of no surprised that the 2 maidens are also made the pesudo rulers. There was much uproar in the land. Fellow peasants were furious that these 2 rookies were given the chance to be of equal footing as the other 2 Chosen Ones. They felt that there was no way the rookies can match up to their experience and wisdom. And given their recent antics, its no surprise that the peasants spoke their minds at the council meeting with the nobles.
Perhaps, the nobles themselves knew that this would be the outcome but there was little they can do as it was probably the Evil Queen's doing that the 2 maidens were added to the list of candidates in the first place. In an attempt to appease the masses, the other 2 Chosen Ones were given a more glamourous title in this test. And it was said that when the Trial comes, they will each be assessed differently and that the 2 maidens will not be ranked the same as the other Chosen Ones.
So now the stage had been set for war, it will be the Chosen Ones vs the Maidens. Will good triumph over evil? And what will become of the fate of those peasants under the rule of the Maidens? Will they serve and suffer in silence or will they secretly aid the Chosen Ones in their quest to oust them from power? Will the Maidens get their just deserts? Or will evil reign supreme?
Stay tuned to what could possibly be the concluding episode or there could be more chapters... It all depends on the upcoming struggles for power...

Hahaha some of you may be itching to read Chapter 3 of the Story of the 2 Maidens... Trust me, the story has not ended yet... The plot is still setting but I can't make the story interesting since its only been a few days, but rest assured that something interesting is brewing cuz the nobles are planning something that will involve the peasants and the maidens...
So while waiting for the next Chpater, tot I'll do a little movie review instead... hahah....
Caught the latest 2 sequels in town namely: Die Hard 4 and the much anticipated Hairy Potter sequel:
Well I dun really remember watching the previous 3 installements of Die Hard, but after watching this latest sequel, I can finally understand why the series is called Die Hard. Bloody Bruce Willis (well, literally cuz he's only clean and fresh in the first 15min or so, and is bloody and sooty for the rest of the show) plays an NYPD cop, who just refused to die, despite being involved in car wrecks, mutliple gun fights and suffering from cuts, bruises and gun shots...
The bugger can still bring down a helicopter with a car and a fighter jet with a trailer (think Optimus Prime in his vehicular form taking on Starscream in his areoplanor form) !!!
A must watch for guys who like action thrillers with a weak plot and plenty of shitty-bang-bang, I give this 3 out of 5 popcorn On the other hand, Harry continues to charm with his magical world, although this time round, its kinda disappointing cuz somehow, it seems that much from the novel had been cut in the movies.. And of cuz, the actors are in their teens rite now, so they lost the kaiwaii factor, although Hermonie still looks cute =)
Maybe a 3.5 out of 5 popcorn for this one...
p.s. I dun reveal the plot and endings, in case you guys plan to catch them at a cinema near you...

Back in RO after being absent for so long, its a good thing that the trainees still remember me and its heartwarming to receive such a warm welcome from them... heheh, it kinda reminds me of why I kept going back week after week in the first place, although at times, I do have the strong urge to take a break from the weekly routine...
Brought Little Imp and a few others to try out volunteering for a day and they seem to like it. Well, to most people, its really an eye opener and a great experience. We do not know how fortunate we are until we actually come into contact with the less fortunate and we do not fully understand the joy of giving until we really do... Of cuz having said that, there is always the level of commitment that one needs to have in order to continue giving.
To me, it really doesn't matter if you cannot commit to a weekly schedule but what matters is you must have the compassion to want to continue giving, even if its a once-in -while-when -I'm-free frequency... hahaha this comes as a complete opposite of my agenda which is supposed to be recruiting and retaining volunteers so that we will constantly have a group of committed volunteers and that there is a succession plan in place. But then, looking at the bigger picture, if I can spread the spirit of volunteerism to as many people as I can reach and each of them contributes even just one day to volunteering, then at least the less fortunate will have benefited from the love and care showered upon them, even if its only for a day, rite?

Story of the 2 Maidens
Chapter Two
The nobles decided to bring to the attention of the evil queen that among the peasants, there are those who have the capability to serve the court, and so decided to give specific tasks to a group of peasants so that they can showcase their talent to the queen.
Of course, knowing the fact that the queen is one who is quick to form an opinion on a person based on first impression, the nobles then warned the peasants that they should do what they think the queen desires.
So even as every peasant in the land is now given an equal opportunity for a shot at becoming one of the nobles, what will the maidens do, now that they have competition? And now that its no secret that the maidens are not well liked by the rest of the peasants, how will things progress from henceforth?
To be continued... ...

Story of 2 MaidensChapter OneIn a land where the absolute powers lie in the hands of one evil queen and where the nobles dare not utter a word that the queen's ears disapprove of, life of the ordinary peasants were hard.
But the peasants were happy. They had each other to turn to whenever the going gets tough, and although work isn't always pleasant, there's always the occassional after work activities to look forward to, like a drink in the taverns or a simple get together, with good food and good company.
Among the peasants, there were 2 maidens who happened to be friends with the 2 nobles in charge of running the town which they live and work in. The maidens decided that life as peasants were too tough and they aspired to be among the ranks of the nobles. And as such, they began plotting behind the backs of whom they once called friends.
They did things which they knew would please the nobles, even if that means stabbing their friends behind their backs. Some of the p[easants noticed that the maidens often conversed secretly in dark corners, as if plotting something. In the begining, they were very discrete, betraying those who are old, soft spoken or the weak, but as they gain more recognition from the higher ups, they began to walk with their noses in the air, displaying an air of borrowed authority. Gone were the smiles and greetings, they will not so much as give those whom they deemed to be of a lower status than them, a second glance even as they walked right past them.
The rest of the peasants began to distant themselves from the maidens, they were disgusted and angry but there was nothing they could do as the maidens were in the good books of the nobles and word has it that one of them were even praised once by the evil queen.
And so, the remaining peasants do all that they could to avoid direct confrontation with the noble wannabes and at the same time dropping hints that they were no longer welcome in the group. And it seems now that the maidens had noticed the tension and the hostility, for they had stopped joining the rest of the peasants for their noon time break from work.
Words had spread even among the nobles of the maidens' behaviour and among those who do not really get along well with the evil queen and were secretly friends of the peasants, they too sensed the tension and avoided contact with the maidens, shaking their heads in disgust as they watched from far.
Just when it seems that the noble wannabes were having their time, the 2 nobles that were so protective of the maidens were no longer in charge of their town. And so, a twist of fate and they have now lost their backing and the trust of fellow peasants.
What will become of the maidens? Will they repent and beg for forgiveness and acceptance? Or will they continue to work towards their dream of gaining nobility? And what will the rest of the peasants do? Please stay tuned for Chapter 2...

Retreats are usually boring events whereby management will try to solicit feedback from the staff, in the form of what we think the branch had done well this year and what could be improved.
Its quite amusing becuz, usually there will be people who will try to suck up to bosses and would say all the politically correct stuff, quite the opposite of what they will usually say during lunch hours or Friday nites over the bar counter, under the influemce of a few drinks.
Mangement, on the other hand, will try to motivate the staff by promising to look into issues that we thought could be improved. I would say they are really good at this... They will really literally look at the slides while we are presenting and gave us their full attention for that 5 to 10 minutes, and then wait until the next retreat where we will then suggest other things for them to 'look at'...
But on the whole, its still not too bad though... some of us managed to self entertain by taking pix... Hahaha poor CS became an exhibit cuz of his height, kauz the dude stands at a whopping 192cm!!!
Supposed to be treating him like a statue in this one but somehow it turns out to be a 'Go away I dun wanna stand next to you' effect
Most of us can only see eye-to-chest with this big friendly giant:
Well, standing on top of a chair certainly helps to narrow the gap:
This is a candid shot taken when CS wanna siam being snapped by the little imp:
Bernice decided to ride on the recent Transformers craze and did a little photoshopping:
After the crazy quartet calmed down enuf, we finally managed to take a normal pic together:
And oh we caught an overweight 贞子, looks like she likes to go eat buffet lunches when not climbing out of television sets or wells...we din dare to tell our colleagues that we saw a ghost *_*'

Check out this website on
numerology. The day you are born in obviously tells alot about your character. Although it may not be absolutely accurate, I can relate to most of the characteristics mentioned.
Suddenly
