While most people prefer to make love and not war, I think sometimes, it takes some small fights to strengthen the bonds between people, be it friends, family members or couples.
It's the disagreements, the squabbles that make us realise that there were differences and it's through these that we learnt to know each other better, and to accept these differences. All of us learn to be a better person when we survived each and every such squabbles.
That does not mean to say that one has to pick a fight over the smallest things just to create that little spark but rather, do not see fights or arguments as a taboo and attempt to avoid confrontations. Over time, this may be the single most damaging factor in any relationship.
So people, do not take such things in such a bad light, talk it out, give a hug, kiss and make up. It's not as simple as it seems but at the same time, it's not that difficult either.

Rainbow had a sudden craving for roti prata last nite and intended to drag the whole family to Thompson. I was actually very de sian to go out and since bro got a Subaru Legacy from the workshop (his Latio got bumped and was under repairs), I thought I can siam.
But that's not meant to be, she practically dragged me out of the sofa, 撒娇 till my parents agreed to go. Sigh... She even went to the closet and grabbed me a tshirt so that I could no longer have any excuse not to go >___< 'dent dent' with her. The story of 'dent dent' can be found in her love blog with my bro, during their London trip
So anyways, to view the pix from our prata nite out, just stay tuned to foot prints all over. I think she will send the pix over and force Keith to blog the entry, hahah

Bintan Recce Trip
So here it is, the reccee trip for the regional Asia Finance Conference in June. Before you guys go 'ooohs' and 'aaahhhs', this is mostly a work related trip lor, so not as 'ooohs and aaahhhs' as you all think.
Boss was a bit reluctant to make this reccee a full day event, so well, we'll just have to cramp the site visits in one afternoon then.
Arriving at the Tanah Merah Terminal:
My one and only committee member. This usually chirpy gal was all serious and tensed up just before boarding the ferry. Turned out that she will get seasick de wor...
One hour later, arriving at Nirwana Gardens, our first reccee site.
The main lobby, there's a nice bar so that guests can have a drink while waiting to check in or for the shuttle bus
Our first job is to check out the accomodation. Besides the big bosses who will most probably be having suite rooms, us small fries will have make do with twin sharing rooms, not bad for a night's stay, actually. Quite cosy.
They have chalet style accomodation too but we thought that's more suitable for holiday makers. It's by the beach and really nice. I can show you guys the pix, if any of you are interested.
One good thing about Nirwana is that there are many eating places, so planning for meals is easier. Since we have people of different nationalities, we can play around with the menus and make sure there's something for everyone.
There's al fresco dining, normal restaurants, pool side dining and most interestingly, kelong dining. Think that will be a smash for our regional peers
On our way to the kelong on the buggy (yes the type that golfers sat on), we saw this giant monitor lizard 'crossing the road'. We 2 山龟 (sua ku) were fascninated but the guide told us this is a common sight there >__< The Kelong, this shall be our dinner place
Follow by drinks at the beach. The ambience is a little like our own Sunset Bay in Sentosa.
Ok, this is where the actual conference is gonna be. We absolutely dig this conference room cuz it's big enough to house all of us, plus there's washrooms and we can have a small corner for coffee/ tea breaks.
Got balcony also lor, so that we can get some sunlight. How cool is that? Oh, that's Cheryl and our guide in the background.
For team building events, we can get an instructor to conduct a obstacle course for us. Hmm save us the headache of planning for games and the potential logistical nightmare of preparing our own equipment.
We next went to Angsana but the guide was very 敷衍, plus it's more meant for leisure getaway, so din bother to take pix.
And so, the 2 site visits took up most of the afternoon and we were kinda hot and tired by then. Decided to splurge a little on a nice dinner which after all, is on the tabs of the company... hahahah...
The Jap food is a little ex but definitely worth the price tag =)
流口水 oredi or not? Muuuhahahha
One amazing thing happened on our way back when we were clearing the Bintan custom, we actually mixed up our passport, but the Immigration Officer actually stamped our passports and let us through lor!!! WTF??? We were both stunned and amused, so much for security.
And also, the ferry docked 4 times during the trip...

I always pride myself for my powderful cheena... But recently, I got stumped by this song, really chiminology (meaning, sibei chim)...
Nabei, first line oni and I need to take out dictionary liaoz lor, and dun even ask me what it means, I figured the song got something to do with the paintings on a china vase or something and that somehow translates to a love story...
At least that's what I tot from the CGI MV above lah, the one featuring Jay made me more confused >___<
p.s. In case I get hate mails, I'm a fan of Jay too, but really his goodest fren hor, can write something not so chim so that commoners like us can understand the songs or not???

The thrill of going onto the roller coaster ride for the very first time. The feeling that has never been felt before, the anticipation, the excitement, the thrill of going for the first climb and the first dip to hell and back up again.
But how many more dips and climbs can one handle? There will be times when you would want to scream and pull your hair out, and times when you wish it will all come to an end cuz the ups and downs are too much to take.
If, you could push the STOP button and stop the ride anytime, would you do so or hang on till the very end?

Finally, I'm back... Nothing much to update for these few days though, cuz all I'm doing for this incamp is rehearsing for a parade to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Guards formation as an elite formation... blah blah blah...
Seriously, this kinda event would mean alot to the regulars cuz they will get all so emotional and full of pride of being part of the SAF's elite force, but for us NSmen, we really dun give two hoots... Unlike the regulars, we DID NOT choose to be Guards but rather, we were being posted to the formation whether we like it or not, so how to feel proud leh? As what my Company Sergeant Major once said, he dun expect us to have any pride or integrity, just dun make trouble, guai guai serve the 2.5yrs and fuck off... Good advice, I must say...
But hey, it's the easiest in-camp I have had so far, so I'm not gonna complain much except for the fact that:
- Time passes excruciatingly slow when one is in the confines of an army camp... - We actually 'work' much longer hours in the camp than in office... - Whenver one is in green, one could sleep anywhere, anytime, without fail... - Food in the cook house still sux big time...
