To my brother and sister who is currently going thru a difficult time, hang in there and be strong for each other ok?

As long as you have each other, nothing is impossible to overcome, must have faith and be there for each other.

We had been looking forward to our first ever bbq (first as in the first bbq with TSO, A&J).
TSO and I were kinda late cuz we went to get new specs. Hehehe I will no longer be Chicken Little, but that's for another post.

Anyway, this has got to be the most organised and efficient bbq that I have ever been to.
Take a look at Adrian's car boot, everything is meticulously segregated and packed nicely.

So it makes bringing them to the pit real easy so that the gals can walk behind us chit chatting and taking random shots

Before we start setting up the pit, TSO began her ritual of drawing up the stove so that we can get some really nice fire for our bbq. The best fire, by the way is those flameless glowing white hot charcoal that allows your food to be cooked to perfection without getting burnt.
You'll noe wat I mean later

And so, once the stove is nicely drawn, it's time to build the fire. The pyramid building is of utmost importance ok? Built it rite and you'll have a really nice fire in no time at all. And there is Adrian in the background setting up the dining table.

This guy is super organised can? Raw meat, sausages, marshmallows and utensils all nicely seperated. He even had a plastic sheet to put over the stone table as 'table cloth' lor! And oh, must mention that he marinated all the chicken wings and the meat. And not just anyhow marinate one ok? He got 用心 and 真诚 in his 'marination' de wor

Ok now back to the fire, I almost disgraced myself cuz I did not manage to get the charcoal burning up properly, despite several attempts. This is the best I could do

The others tried to help out too and TSO was very 卖力 but after some 1 hour and a box (yes, a FULL box) of fire starters later, we still cannot get the charcoal to burn. Trying to console ourselves that there is nothing wrong with the 4 of us and the fault must definitely lie with the charcoal, A&J drove off to the nearest 7-11 to get a new bag of charcoal.

Sounds lame eh? Some of you confirm will say you have never heard of charcoal that cannot burn, must be we lousy lah.

Compare the picture above with the one below, notice how part of the charcoal is starting to get white and actually glows? We used the same method as before with the new packet of charcoal and it only took us 5 min to achieve this lor.

Now make a guess, which packet of charcoal is the lousy one? From my smile, it's definitely not this nicely wrapped one lah, from NTUC somemore ok? How can the gahmen brand be of inferior quality?

Versus this lok kok brandless packet?

YOU ARE SO SO WRONG!!! Our dearest NTUC actually sells counterfeit charcoal that DOES NOT BURN!!! WTF???

So because we trusted the house brand, we ended up wasting precious time and petrol and we were all starving by the time we started the bbq proper. But this did not dampen our mood cuz you see, we managed to get the ever elusive and much sought after 'perfect bbq fire'

Just look at the food pix. Everything cooked to perfection without the slightlest chow tar

Must remember to turn off the stove when we were done

Did I mention that this was the best organised and efficient bbq that I have ever had? No one will even realise that someone had a bbq here just a few hours ago! Think we should deserve the 好公民奖 for keeping our environment clean and tidy =)

We should definitely do this again and this time, no more NTUC house brand charcoal!

TSO has been waiting for ages for the new album and finally got her hands on them.
And although she did not pre-order, the shop assistant is kind enuf to let her have the pre-order set, basically it's the same CD in a metal box, plus a deck of poker cards and a small rubic cube, which of cuz has his face all over.

But after listening thru the songs, this is the only one that I really like, very catchy.

Enjoy.

Recently attended the wedding of one of my secondary school friends and of cuz in such events, it always turned out to be a mini class gathering for those who were seated at the same table.

And the amazing thing is, although we have not met up for months, and for some, years, the bonds are still as strong as before. On the surface, it seemed that we have all matured and changed in some ways but actually, we were all pretty much the same as we were during our school days.
While we were updating each other on how each of us is getting on in life after graduation, I noticed that there were actually some things that were understood even without the need to bare it all. As if by telepathy, we understand why our friends chose the path they walked or made the decision that they made without having to ask for explaination, even though we may not neccessarily agree that what they have decided is the best option.

The chemistry is still there, despite being out of sight and sometimes, out of mind for all this time.

Which brings me to a thought. What makes friends 'close friends' or 'best friends'? Most people think close friends are those who happen to share some happy times together, merry making and gossiping during lunch breaks and such. These are to me, casual friends at best until it has been tested by circumstances that the bonds are strong enuf to be reclassified as 'close' or 'best'.

Cuz seriously, how many so-called 'close' or bff-s (best friends forever) can really withstand tests of time and the challenges Life throws at them?
As time passes and as each individual grows and starts to have his/her own priorities and different take on things happening in life, will the friendship still be as strong as you think it is?

Will your so called 'close' friends understand you and support you and encourage you despite having different views? Or will your so called 'close' friends attempt to preach what according to him/her is the 'correct' way and insists that you change? And when you do not follow, turn their backs on you?

After thought: Seems that whenever I had a slightly more serious entry, someone will think if I'm targeting this specifically to him/her. Gee, I always say that if you do find traces of yourself in what you're reading, and if you felt targeted, then well mayb you do belong to the circumstances that I have mentioned but that does not neccessarily mean that I'm targeting at anyone in particular.

For instance, if I say I do not like the smell of CK One (I said IF) and if you happen to use CK One, does that mean I'm saying I dislike you?

Well, maybe next time I should just state in the opening that this entry is specifically targeted at so and so instead?

This kid could be the next big thing. Some say he sounds like Show 罗志祥.
But I think there must be something in him for the recording company to wait close to 3 years to cut this album. And to think he is the 3rd runner-up from the 1st Project Superstars series.
