Attended ACID (Annual Camp for the Intellectually Disabled) over the weekend and it was really an eye opener. The various project groups under MINDS all got together for this annual camp. Its actually quite similiar to the school camps we used to have, games, bbq, camp fires. And there were even student volunteers from the various schools, so it was actually quite a major event. Not gonna post any pix of the camp cuz its quite sensitive lah...
Actually, some of my friends asked me what makes me take up volunteering in the first place. I didn't exactly take it up because I really wanna contribute to society, it was more of something to past time and make more friends.
But being around these people really makes me feel that we are so much more fortunate, in that we are born able bodied and are able to enjoy life as it is. Its actually quite a sad thing. Why can't everyone be born normal? So now, I actually make it a point to spend my Saturdays volunteering, hoping to bring some joy to the lives of these less fortunate.

Another few hours to my final paper... Finally gonna finish my studies liaoz, after 3 bloody long years... muuuuahahahaha!!! Total freedom after 1pm on 14 June 2004!!!
