Its an exciting yesterday for most of us sua ku Singaporeans who have never experienced how it feels like to be in an earthquake... Never mind that we are experiencing just mere after shocks of a 6.6 quake in Southern Sumatra...

People evacuated from high rise office towers, some felt nausea and vomited, certain HDB flats suffered cracks, so ok... the worst that can happen is the cracks right? Maybe there could be structural damage, which I think must be cuz of those contractors who cut corners in order to qualify for the lowest bid for some gahmen tenders (c'mon, that's how the gahmen works mah, if unsure, always go for the lowest quote, saves time in justifying and getting the green light to go ahead with the projects)...

And we are getting like 15 minutes of news coverage, interviewing tons of people and spreads over many pages in the newspapers... hello? People are dying in Indonesia and they are getting like 3 min of local air time (well maybe Channel News Asia gives more)...

Then I was thinking, maybe we purposely downplay the actual situation? I mean the blardy Indons banned the export of sand and cement and granite right? So now its our chance to get back at them mah...
I say we refuse to send them humantarian(dunno how to spell) aid, make them beg us for help and agree to continue to sell us sand and cement and granite and water and Indonesian maids and whatever it is that we need from them at 50% discount (c'mon we are civilised people, so cannot ask for free right?) for the rest of eternity, then maybe we send some jiak lao bee army boys over to help pitch tents or bandage the injured, and just maybe, Singaporeans will be appeased enuf to start another one of those many annual fund raising concerts which involve celebrities risking their lives doing ridiculous stunts and begging people to make those 1900 calls which are, by the way, taxable (nabei lor, still must pay tax and admin fee to do good deeds, kan ni na) to save the poor suffering Indons

On hindsight, mayb its bad karma that they kanna earthquake cuz they dun sell us sand and semen, er I mean cement and granite...
