On Religions and Beliefs
Before I go any further, I would like to state the fact that I think all religions are beautiful because even though the teachings may vary, they are here to achieve the same goal i.e. to do good for all of mankind. So be it Scientology, Hindism, Islam, Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity or whatever, they are all good...

I guess the reason why there are so many religion-related wars throughout history is because of foolish Man who misinterpreted the teachings... coupled with their personal agenda, rivers of blood had been shed and mountains of bones had been stacked all in the name of God (by God here, I mean the Supreme Being, not the one on the cross)

Some of the people I know believe that there is only one universal God, and that the different religions are the different messengers sent by the Almighty One to spead his words, since Man is divided into different races and of different languages and different cultures.

Some will go so far as to believe that God is actually alien life forms who are much more advanced than Man, as depicted in some Hollywood movies, especially those involving pyramids and Egyptians.

Well personally, I find the former more possible... I cannot imagine people worshipping this bugger but if you happen to be one, peace man... I respect your belief...

So anyway my point is, the world will be much more peaceful if everyone can just like, you know, practice their own religion and leave the rest alone. There is, in my opinion, no best religion, if you believe your God will grant you eternal life, fine, but do not go and tell other people that they will not go to Heaven for not believing in yours, or that the God of the West is causing the people in the Middle East to suffer... blah blah blah...

For that matter, just because some people choose to worship religions that are not considered mainstream, doesn't mean that they are evil. I'm talking about Pageans or people worshipping Mother Nature being wrongly labelled as witches and such or Jews and other miniorities, I'm sure your God did not teach you to undermine other people's beliefs but to go against all that is considered evil and bad...

Which brings me to my next point... Is the Devil really that bad? I mean in most movies and also some of the church services that I had attended (I was from a Catholic mission school in my secondary school days), it seems that the Devil merely offers temptations but he will not force it down your throat. Man is always given a choice to succumb to temptation or to walk away from it. So can you blame the Devil if you are not strong willed enough nor have enough faith to walk away from his enticements?

And I think it is fruitless trying to think that Good will triumph over Evil because the universe is all about checks and balances. You can choose to ignore it but look around you... from the eco-system to mathematics to physics to chemistry, everything has its pros and cons, so why not good and evil?

So if even God cannot eradicate Devil since the beginning of Time, who are we to even think that we can? What we mere Mortals can do is to accept that fact and seek to live life as we seem fit, and in the midst of doing so, try to steer away from temptation and do more good deeds like helping those around us who are less fortunate and in doing so, hopefully we can help tip the scale more towards all that is good..
