There's this saying that we should always teach people how to fish instead of giving them the fish. But the teaching process itself can be a hair pulling experience too and sometimes, it drives me crazy and I thought to myself, should I just catch one more fish and give it out instead...
Its like I have to really spell out everything from A-Z. Ok, granted that the newbie may be blur but then a bit of initiative also dun have de mah? Cannot trial and error meh?
You teach the newbie to secure the hook to the fishing line and he asks you questions like what hook to use, how to secure, what knot to use.
Next, you tell him to place a bait and he asks you what bait to use, what should the size of the bait be, how to secure it to the hook. Even have to show him how to hold the knife to cut the bait into hookable size =x
Then finally, you tell him to cast the line and he asks you, how should he cast the line, how far should he cast out, how long should he wait for the fish and when he should start reeling in the catch once it bites, etc etc...
See what I mean, might as well I catch right? Very pek chek lor...
Being the Mr Nice Guy that I am, I cannot bring myself to show signs of impatience or raise my voice but really am kinda boiling inside...
Sometimes I wish I can be as evil as I wish to be
