Fuck lah, whenever someone wanna increase the price of something, they always blame it on higher operating costs, knn, I oso suffering from higher operating cost due to GST hikes, fare hikes cuz it now costs more to travel to and fro from work and it costs more to have lunch when I'm working in fucking Raffles Place, so does that mean I have the rite to increase my pay?

So with increase in air fare due to increase in the fuel tax which is in turn due to the increase of oil prices, ppl will either a) fly budget airlines or b) stay in SG (exceptions of cuz to those who filthy rich, they song, they fly)

So for group b) who decides to stay behind, they will have find alternate means of entertainment, meaning they will have to take public transport and of course when you are out having fun, most often than not, you will wanna take a cab home.

And then wat happens? Taxi fare hike and I'm not even gonna list the details here, it's all over the news, a fucking 49% increase and the papers have the fucking cheek to say the rate's still the same as Hong Kong, half that of Sidney's and a quarter that of London's. I dun give 2 fucks what it costs out there... Do you, taxi operators be happy when you will eventually reach or exceeds London's standards then?

So now, ppl will either all flock to A) buses or MRTs or B) drive. I mean it doesn't make sense anymore to take a cab from Pasir Ris to say Jurong now does it. The $20 over bucks of cab fare is almost enough to pump a half tank of petrol which allows you to make the same trip twice...

Well in either case, it's still gonna result in the same thing :


A) Increase in commuters obviously is gonna increase 'operating costs' again as the frequencies of buses and trains need to be increased and hence cost. What to do? Obviously, to ease the problem, fare hike!

B) More ppl resort to driving... Ah! Very simple, to ease traffic, increase ERP! Increase COE! Increase parking fees!

This is pure evil! And I'm hit the worse, I take the public transport and I'm a part time driver and I try to go on trips at least once a year! Sibei jialat... Tsk tsk....
