On the 4th Day of Lunar New Year, me got some friends visiting so decided to cook something for the occassion... er, as mentioned before, me ish no professional so well, nothing much to expect... Valencia is kind enough to help out by offering to make chawanmushi...
Lau bu decided to help out too but I think it's because she did not want us to mess up her kitchen.... Anyways...
Presenting the 主厨,二炉 and 三炉...
While we were getting busy in the kitchen, the rest decided to try their luck at mahjong, must be they watched too much 雀圣 liaoz... See? All looked like damn serious >___<
Dinner is finally ready...
Lau bu's dish... Fried Sotong Ball... Val was impressed with the garnish and asked Lau bu to teach her... Wonder if she got practice after learning or not? And oh... Lau bu seems to like her a lot too, sekali wants her be god-daughter....

Val's chawanmushi....

My Japanese curry:

Canned fruits for desert

The full spread... Val prepared more than enuf chawanmushi for all... Anyway, for those who did not know, the portion on the top right corner hor, was orginally from a glass bowl which cracked nicely into half during the steaming process, the cooks were worried that there might be broken glass pieces embedded in the egg but after ensuring that it's safe, we served it to the rest and ironically, without knowing what happened before, all commented that it tasted the best among all portions of chawanmushi...
The 主角 of the day... 鱼生 (contributed by Betsy) ... Dun play play hor... the 林家桩 version uses abalone instead of salmon, heheh... We mixed other stuff like mandarin oranges, pomelo, ba kwa, carrot and cucumber slices...
And so, without further ado... everyone got ready to 'HUAT AR!!!'

The aftermath:

All happily tucking in:

Some random pictures...
